Randy Krummenacher, Corentin Perolari and Hugo Clere, bearers of the Tati Team Beringer Racing, finished the forty-seventh edition of the historic race on the Bugatti Circuit in sixth position, fifth in the EWC category.
The forty-seventh edition of the historic 24h of Le Mans, which took place over the weekend of 18-21 April, saw 48 teams line up on the grid, of which however less than 30 reached the checkered flag. The famous Endurance race, which takes place on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, started at 3.00 pm on Saturday 20 April and saw the Tati Team Beringer Racing, with the Honda CBr 1000 RR-R, lining up in seventh position on the starting grid with its three standard bearers: the Swiss Randy Krummenacher and the two Frenchmen Corentin Perolari and Hugo Clere.
The "start" fell to the Swiss who completed 33 laps, handing over to teammate Corentin Perolari who then handed the bike over to rider Hugo Clere for the third stint. All three drivers immediately proved to be strong and consistent, managing to reach fifth position during Randy Krummenacher's second stint. The Tati Team Beringer then conquered fourth position, managing to maintain it for a long time and in any case remaining in the top 5 throughout the night. A long and cold night in which hopes and emotions alternated, then giving way to rationality and strategies. A united team, managed privately at a family level, which however demonstrated great commitment and a high level of professionalism
As often happens in endurance races, the last hours are those that can reserve the most unexpected surprises. The three standard bearers of the French Team conducted, with the help of the technicians and the Team Manager, a maintenance strategy, trying not to take excessive risks on a night where the temperature, dropping below 3°C, caused quite a few falls .
A technical problem during the stint entrusted to Krummenacher forced the Swiss to return to the garage with less than 3 hours to go until the end of the race. Fortunately the team worked well to resolve the problem, giving the riders the opportunity to return to the track despite losing a few positions. The last stint again saw Krummenacher as the protagonist who, thanks to his skills and that of his two teammates and thanks to the Team which provided reliable and professional personnel, crossed the finish line in sixth place overall, fifth in their category (EWC ) causing the Tati Beringer Racing Team to collect 33 points for the Championship standings.
Randy Krummenacher:
“This 24h of Le Mans was a great emotion. I took part in a 24-hour race for the first time last year, again with the Tati Beringer Racing Team, on the occasion of the last round of the Championship on the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet. It was a wonderful experience that led me to decide to do the entire current season with the same team. Le Mans, however, was the first time I started and finished a 24-hour race, on a circuit that bears an important name due to its notoriety, especially for the incredible participation of the public.
I did the first stint, and therefore the start, then alternating with Corentin (Perolari) and Hugo (Clere). We had a good bike, the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R has incredible potential, and we pushed forward, reaching fourth position during the night. The night was very hard due to the cold temperatures that literally froze our hands. Unfortunately during my penultimate stint we had a problem. I managed to complete the scheduled laps but then I returned to the garage and communicated the problems I had encountered to the technicians. Obviously, to sort everything out, the pit stop was longer than expected and therefore we lost important time. Despite everything, I had the honor of crossing the finish line, bringing our bike to sixth overall and fifth in the EWC ranking.
I want to thank the Team for their great passion, commitment and professionalism, my teammates Hugo and Corentin, with whom we immediately found an excellent dialogue and managed to help each other and remain fairly constant, my sponsors and all the people who support me . Finally, thanks go to my wife who was my shoulder, taking care of everything I needed, the material, rest and recovery times, giving me support throughout the entire race.
The next appointment will see us take part in the 8h of Spa on the weekend of 7-9 June and in the meantime we will work to improve in all possible fronts.”
