ROUND 2 OF THE FIM ENEL MOTOE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

ROUND 2 OF THE FIM ENEL MOTOE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The second round of the FIM Enel Moto-E World Championship took place on the spectacular Italian circuit of Mugello. The drivers of the electric category took to the track yesterday for morning practice, where the Swiss Randy Krummenacher set a ninth time in the first session and a fourth time in the second, thus gaining direct passage to Q2. In the qualifying session, the Swiss rider wearing the colors of Team Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE stopped the clock at 1'56.343, just 0.591s. from the first, gaining fourth position which then became third due to a penalty imposed on the driver Eric Granado. Front row on the lift grid for today's two races.
Race 1, which took place at 12.15 local time, saw the Swiss start from third place and go wide at the first corner. A mistake that cost Krummenacher dearly as he paid for it with various positions, finding himself eighth but managing to recover something and moving up to fifth when the checkered flag waved.
Race 2, scheduled for 4.10pm local time, started 10 minutes late due to the heavy rain that hit the Italian circuit. Wet race reduced to 6 laps and then suspended on the fifth lap by the red flag due to a fall. Krummenacher finished in seventh position, unable to find the right feeling with the bike in the wet. However, the Swiss took home important points and a fourth place in the championship standings.

RK3: “It was my second race weekend with the MotoE, I realize that I still have a lot to learn and improve but we have made considerable progress. In race 1, if I hadn't made a mistake in the first corner, I could have fought in the leading group. Seven laps of the race, however, do not forgive mistakes and the time to recover is very little. It's a shame because I had a good feeling with the bike, certainly better than in the first round at Le Mans. Race 2, however, was very difficult. I generally like the rain and I was confident I could do well but unfortunately I wasn't able to improve my times like the others did. However, I remain positive, I like MotoE, I know that I have a good margin for improvement and after all I brought home important points and am fourth in the general classification. I can't wait to get back on track next weekend in Germany. The Sachsnering is a circuit that I know well and I like a lot so I hope to improve further and bring home better results. I thank my team for the work done as always with great professionalism, my sponsors and all the people who support me.”
