RANDY KRUMMENACHER PARTECIPERA’ AL MONDIALE ENDURANCE IN SELLA ALLA YAMAHA YZF-R1 DEL  WOJCIK RACING TEAM

 

Randy Krummenacher lascia, per il momento, il paddock del Mondiale Superbike, che lo ha visto conquistare il titolo iridato nella categoria Supersport 600 nel 2019. 

Dopo le ultime stagioni vissute in maniera travagliata, e con risultati che non hanno rispecchiato le aspettative del pilota elvetico, la decisione è maturata negli ultimi giorni.

Krummenacher aveva sostituito il pilota Luca Bernardi nel team CM Racing, conquistando un primo posto nella gara di Barcellona e chiudendo la stagione con due ottave posizioni nel Round Indonesiano. Intenzione del pilota, in accordo con il Team, era quella di procedere con un progetto insieme per la stagione 2022 ma gli accordi non sono stati trovati e lo stesso Krummenacher ha deciso di non firmare il contratto con la squadra italiana.

Fortunatamente però, altre strade interessanti, si sono aperte sul percorso dell’elvetico che ha firmato un contratto con il Wojcik Racing Team per partecipare alla stagione 2022 del Mondiale Endurance in sella ad una Yamaha YZF-R1.

Altre novità saranno inoltre svelate a breve ma sembrerebbe che l’elvetico sia molto propenso a partecipare anche ad un campionato nazionale che sarà svelato a breve

 

Randy Krummenacher:

 

“Sono state settimane molto difficili quelle appena concluse ma, fortunatamente, dopo la tempesta arriva sempre il sereno. Dopo che gli accordi con il Team CM non sono andati a buon fine e quindi ho deciso di non firmare il contratto che mi era stato proposto, mi sono guardato intorno e mi si sono riaperte delle opportunità che avevo lasciato indietro per dare la precedenza al Mondiale Supersport . Ovviamente le ho colte subito perché penso che anche io, in questo momento, ho bisogno di nuovi stimoli e qui li troverò sicuramente. Il Mondiale Endurance mi piace moltissimo, posso dirlo per certo perché nel 2019 ho avuto l’opportunità di essere pilota di riserva nella 24h di Le Mans. C’è un clima particolare, il correre di notte, la gestione dei tempi e del recupero, tutto insieme mi emoziona soprattutto perché lo farò in sella alla Yamaha YZF-R1 del Team Wojcik che reputo un’ottima squadra sia professionalmente che personalmente.

Oltre all’Endurance ci sarà, molto probabilmente, un altro campionato al quale prenderò parte ma, per ora, non posso ancora svelare nulla.

Voglio ringraziare le persone che mi hanno supportato e che continueranno a farlo, il Wojcik Racing Team e tutti coloro che hanno reso possibile l’avverarsi di questo progetto.”

RANDY KRUMMENACHER STARTET MIT DEM TEAM WOJCIK AUF EINER YAMAHA YZF-R1 IN DER LANGSTRECKEN-WM

Randy Krummenacher verlässt das Fahrerlager der World Superbike, wo er 2019 den Weltmeistertitel in der Supersport 600 gewonnen hat.
Nach zwei Saisons mit Problemen, in denen die Resultate nicht mit den Erwartungen des Schweizer Piloten übereinstimmten, hat er sich in den letzten Tagen zu diesem Schritt entschlossen.
Krummenacher sprang gegen Ende dieser Supersport-Saison im CM Racing Team für Luca Berardi ein, gewann in Barcelona und beendete die Saison mit zwei achten Rängen in Indonesien. Er plante 2022 weiterzumachen, aber die beiden Parteien konnten sich nicht einigen und Krummenacher entschied sich, mit dem italienischen Team keinen Vertrag mehr zu unterschreiben.
Glücklicherweise meldeten sich andere Interessenten und der Schweizer unterzeichnete nun einen Vertrag mit dem Team Wojcik, um auf einer Yamaha YZF-R1 in der Langstrecken-WM 2022 zu starten.
Es ist zudem wahrscheinlich, dass Krummenacher an einer nationalen Meisterschaft teilnehmen wird. Details dazu werden in naher Zukunft bekanntgegeben.
Randy Krummenacher:
 «Ich hatte einige harte Wochen, aber glücklicherweise kehrt nach einem Sturm immer Ruhe ein. Nachdem ich mich entschieden hatte, den vom Team CM angebotenen Vertrag nicht zu unterschreiben, begann ich mich wieder umzusehen und stiess auf Chancen, die ich zugunsten der Supersport-WM nicht ergriffen hatte. Nun packte ich sie natürlich, weil ich glaube, dass ich hier die neue Motivation finden werde, die ich benötige. Ich mag die Langstrecken-WM, das kann ich aus eigener Erfahrung sagen, weil ich 2019 im 24-Stunden-Rennen von Le Mans die Gelegenheit hatte, Ersatzfahrer zu sein. Es ist eine ganz besondere Atmosphäre, in der Nacht Rennen zu fahren, und das Management von Zeit und Erholung ist eine besondere Herausforderung. Ich freue mich nicht zuletzt darauf, mit der Yamaha YZF-R1 im Team Wojcik zu fahren, das ich sowohl menschlich als auch fachlich für ein grossartiges Team halte.
Neben der Langstrecken-WM werde ich voraussichtlich noch an einer weiteren Meisterschaft teilnehmen, mehr kann ich dazu aber im Moment nicht sagen.
Ich möchte mich bei allen bedanken, die mich bisher unterstützt haben und das auch weiterhin tun. Und ich bedanke mich beim Team Wojcik und allen, die dieses neue Projekt möglich gemacht haben.»

RANDY KRUMMENACHER TO COMPETE IN FIM WORLD ENDURANCE ABOARD THE  WOJCIK RACING TEAM YAMAHA YZF-R1

Randy Krummenacher steps away from the World Superbike paddock in which he scored the Supersport 600 world title in 2019. 

After a couple of troubled seasons, during which the results failed to meet with the Swiss rider’s expectations, he has come to his decision in the last few days.

Krummenacher stood in for Luca Bernardi on the CM Racing team towards the end of this Supersport season, winning the Barcelona race and rounding out the year with two eighth place finishes at the Indonesian round. The rider had been planning to continue with the same for the 2022 season, but the parties were unable to reach an agreement and so Krummenacher decided against signing a contract with the Italian team.

Fortunately, other interested parties made themselves known and the Swiss rider has now signed a contract with Wojcik Racing Team to compete in the 2022 FIM World Endurance Championship aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1.

It also looks likely that Krummenacher will take part in a national championship, more details of which will be revealed in the near future.

“I’ve had a few tough weeks but, luckily, there’s always calm after the storm. After the agreements with Team CM didn’t work out and I decided against signing the contract they proposed, I started to look around and was presented with some opportunities that I’d put aside in favour of WorldSSP. And I’ve grabbed them of course, because I think that I need fresh motivation right now, something I’ll definitely find here. I really like World Endurance, and I can say this for sure because I had the opportunity to be a reserve rider in the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours. There’s a particular atmosphere, racing at night, the management of both time and your recovery, it’s exciting, not least because I will be racing with the Yamaha YZF-R1 of Wojcik Racing Team, which I deem to be a really great team both professionally and personally.

As well as the Endurance, I’ll probably compete in another championship too, but I can’t say more for now.
